It's not every day you get to attend a videography award ceremony and witness the accomplishment of your two buddies.
It was the first day of my semester break and I paid YONG a visit at Cyberjaya. That day happened to be the award ceremony of Through Your Lens, a videography contest organized by Gamuda Lands in partnership with SAYS. Grateful for the opportunity to see Jia Le and Danny receive their awards, I tagged along to capture the experience.
The venue was very well set up, some stairs at the cafeteria led to the award ceremony room of neatly arranged banquet chairs. What I didn't expect was they even served breakfast - fried bihun and curry puffs. Although I already ate a little before we arrived, I could not resist the temptation of a typical Malaysian breakfast. After all, it's free right?
As the event started, the host full of energy and excitement took to the stage and welcomed everyone to the contest award ceremony. After giving a brief introduction to the competition, one of the judges, who was a director from Gamuda Lands was introduced to the audience. She greeted the audience with a warm smile on her face and thanked the participants for their hard work and dedication.
Next, it was the moment everyone was waiting for - the awards presentation. The videos of the consolation prize winners and the finalists were shown on the big screen as the host announced the winners. The room erupted in applause and cheers as each winner came up to receive their cash prize, Jia Le and Danny were amongst them. Danny won the consolation prize and Jia Le to my surprise received the grand prize.
As the ceremony drew to a close, the host thanked everyone for their attendance and participation. He praised the winners and encouraged them to continue to improve and hone their skills.
It was an unforgettable experience, filled with excitement, inspiration, and a celebration of the art of videography. The event was flawlessly organized, and the participants left feeling encouraged and motivated to continue to pursue their passion for videography.
